Sometimes the smoothest samples make the hardest songs. Just came across this video for The Kid Daytona/Bun B thang Air Born. You want the beat to hit you harder, but it never does, and it ends up building some crazy tension for Day and Bun to rock over. The other song that instantly pops into my head is the Premier-produced Agallah joint New York Rider Music – probably the only Agallah song I’ve had on repeat, and one of my favorite Premo beats, even though it’s super spare and wide open.
