For you New York types out there, you have absolutely no excuse to miss MinorityFest, going down this Friday at Glasslands Gallery (289 Kent Ave in Brooklyn). Yes, it sounds terrible, but in actual fact it’s awesome. Organized by the unstoppable duo of Hari and Ashok Kondabolu, comedian and musician respectively, the event is multi-faceted: a panel talking about race and racism in the popular culture, comedy by actually funny comedians, live performances by NY It-kids Das Racist and Gordon Voidwell, and late-night DJ throwdowns by the homie and Blue Scholars/Common Market wunderkind Sabzi.

Basically, you should be there. Let’s be real. Go.
