You may know Victor Vazquez as the hairier of the dudes in Das Racist. Fair enough. Well, before Das Racist was in the picture (I think – trying to confirm some dates via the interwebs), Victor rolled solo under the KOOL A.D. moniker. Dap, aka Ashok Kondabolu aka the Hypeman’s Addendum aka the third leg of the Das Racist stool, just put a link to an early KOOL A.D. EP, Zoot Fantastic.
It’s a short drop, five songs (one running nine minutes long, damn son), and it’s not what you would call easy listening – high concept is one possible label (and if so, daddy must have it – h/t to Hari Kondabolu). Two cuts on it, Chalupa la Cheapa and Who This, are official cuts, and the other tracks are solid and offer something to digest, whether or not you would use it as a saturday night soundtrack. Plus, the whole thing is produced by the homie Lil’ Ben, out of Oakland, CA.
Perhaps think of this as a portrait of the artist as a young man. Good shit, and from what we’ve heard from DR and more, it’s getting better.

Kool A.D.”always dirty” 8 or 9 tracks of him rapping over mostly punk and metal,most of this is on his myspace profile
“the Novices”recorded while attending weslyan with Tal who’s in Boy Crisis with him currently,very lofi d.i.y.recording but sounds great and the songs are pretty well crafted
“monkey throws poo”even more lofi and d.i.y. than the novices,this is a solo effort,he plays drums,electric guitar and “sings”the songs are punk kind of poppy but not to poppy,one of these songs was redone by the novices and another by New Earth Creeps,
he did some colaborations with some of the peops from Dead Monkeys out of hawaii under the name”Encyclopedia Brown”,this is the project that he first used the line”im at the pizza hut,im at the taco bell,im at the combination pizza hut and taco bell”
he also played drums and wrote songs on both the album”the urge to kill” as well as the album “overwhelming hunger” by “New Earth Creeps”from the bay area, which he was a fouding member of
I think he did some other shit to that I can think of right now

I wont say that I’m not Doug,in fact I think it’s pretty obvious that I am whether you point it out or not,and seeing as I still talk to Vic on a semi regular basis and he lurks the internet way harder than I,until he asks me to do other wise I will continue to promote not only my music but the music of my friends as well by any means necessary,and while were on the subject of riding coat tails the second New Earth Creeps allbum entitled Overwhelming Hunger features a myriad of guest vocalists including but not limited to,Boots Riley Of the Coup and Street Sweeper Social Club,Sammytown of Fang,the Resistoleros and the Disciples as well as many other seminal bay area artist you probably haven’t heard of/dont fully apreciate
