Still undecided on the song, but this video is crazy. I never knew you could ghostride a whip with such style.  Good one, Maya.

Shouts out to Juvenile.

DJ Chilly’s El Sonido is definitely one of the dopest shows on KEXP.  Every Monday from 6 to 9PM, Chilly selects the choicest tunes from all over Latin America and the rest of the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world, spanning genres, generations and cultures like it’s no thing.  It’s a guaranteed three hour fiesta for your earholes.  So, when Chilly asked me and Toast to come on as guests and do a 30 minute live DJ set, we couldn’t refuse.

It’s our first live radio gig, so please excuse the roughness around the edges. We’re still proud of our little mix, though.  Hope you like it.  Shouts out to Chilly!

Guyana and Suriname (formerly known as Dutch Guyana), along with French Guiana, are usually completely neglected when people are discussing anything to do with South America, let alone it’s music. I’m not gonna lie. If you are not into songs about weed and beer, than this one’s not for you. Everyone else, here’s a video for a catchy new song about weed and beer by young up-and-coming American rappers ScHoolboy Q and A$AP Rocky.  I particularly enjoyed the vocals that were sampled for the hook, which apparently came from this Kid Cudi cover, and the repetitious use of the words “weed” and “brew.”  I don’t, however, appreciate the glorification of drinking and driving.  If you’re ballin so hard, can’t you at least afford a taxi, dummy?

DJ, producer, and FileJerk, Astronomar has been a mainstay of the local scene here in Seattle for a minute. Now it’s time for the rest of the world to get familiar, thanks to Jeffree’s, Mad Decent’s newest underground-centric imprint. I am looking forward to this guy getting some shine, because he definitely deserves it. He’s an awesome dude and his music is the shit. LxNxM cosign %100.

I’m a sucker for Christmas reggae tunes. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine that comes to light every holiday season. I’m glad to see that our favorite Swedish soundsystem, Safari Sound, has no shame in the Christmas reggae game too.  Merry Christmas, y’all!
