This is probably the best feel good song that I’ve heard all year. Whether you’re thinking about a sweetie, a child, a loved one or anything that makes you grin from cheek to cheek, play this cut and it will make you smile even more. I’d call this song anti-hater medicine! Enjoy.
These cats straight jacked my moves. It’s cool, though. I’m not mad. You’d have to be an asshole not to like this video. It’s like a commercial for happiness or something. (via stones throw)

Mayer Hawthorne – No Strings (Classixx Original) by stonesthrow
Damn Seattle, I know our weather isn’t the greatest, but we need a party like this during the warmer months. Here’s some recent video footage of the homie Aloe Blacc performing at the Do-Over soiree in Los Angeles. Since Aloe is one of the key organizers of that monthly party, it only makes sense that he’d get to rock out and perform his signature jam of the moment, “I Need a Dollar.” Seattle promoters, let’s get something like this going in 2011 please.
Big shouts to Larry Mizell Jr. and Seattle’s very own KEXP for bringing Aloe Blacc into the studio on August 22nd. Mr. Blacc’s new album, Good Things, drops September 28th on Stones Throw. Peep the video clip for Politician below and stream the interview and entire live performance, featuring Martha Gonzalez and Quetzal Flores of the L.A. Chicano band Quetzal, and most recently the Seattle Fandango Project, over at KEXP.
