This Sunday, Last Night’s Mixtape and Red Eye are hosting a party at Moe Bar to celebrate and wrap-up a busy busy weekend. This weekend is the Blue Scholars’ Double Feature weekend, with two shows from our boys in blue, and featuring many of the folks you’ve seen written about right here on LxNxM, including Das Racist, Bambu, Macklemore and your boy DV One, among others.

To send the weekend off with a bang, we’re throwing a party with some of our favorite selectors: the File Jerks, DJ WD4D, and LxNxM’s own Tang and Toast. Plus, some secret surprise guests – with so many folks in town, there’s no telling just who might get on the tables.

We’re also releasing the second installment of the LxNxM mixtape series that night, and we’ll have free physical copies for the first 50 or so people in the door.

Bambu – LA rep, former Native Gun and all around nice guy – recently dropped his latest album, Paper Cuts. Firstly: you should buy his album right now. Secondly, being the kind-hearted gent that he is, Bam also put out the accapellas from Paper Cuts for you to download, remix and enjoy. And you should.

Below are a couple of remixes that are already floating around, one from Digital Martyrs, and one from, well, me, dammit. Cop the album, download the accapellas, makes some remixes, send them to us and to Bambu, what the hey.

Bambu – Slow Down, ft. Prometheus Brown aka Geologic (Digital Martyrs remix)

Bambu – Rather Seen, ft. Malcom and Martin (Toast remix)

And check the video for Slow Down – with your boy Geo, produced by Everett stalwart MTK – after jump (and yes, we’ve already posted the video – but you people demand content, damn it!).

It’s taken me awhile to really get hip to California’s Bambu. But as you can see with this video, dude is filthy when it comes to double-time chops and he looks like he can kick your ass too. It’s great to see Seattle-based MC Prometheus Brown (AKA Geo for those who are slow) putting in work on this song as well. The video is well shot and everybody involved should take a bow. Word is, Seattle’s MTK produced the beat as well. Pure freshness. Brrraaap.

West coast undergound heads are probably no stranger to the Native Guns crew – composed of emcees Kiwi and Bambu. The Filipino duo deftly discoursed modern proletarian/petite bourgeoisie life over hood certifiable beats, never failing to move a crowd.

Parting ways in recent years to pursue solo efforts, Kiwi and Bambu have stayed on their grizzly. In this track off his upcoming EP, …paper cutsBambu gets cold and candid on the psuedo-conscious emcee and their triflin’ pro-woman messages. Hopefully folks listen to our dude and save us all some forehead slapping moments in hip hop… download “The queen is dead”

…paper cuts drops Feb 23rd on the Homegrown Blendz label., …paper cuts will feature Chace Infinite (Self Scientific), Geologic (Blue Scholars), Malcolm & Martin, Thurzday (U-N-I) and Diz Gibran, with production by Digital Martyrs, Fatgums, 6Fingers, MTK, Anon and Nick James. Shouts to 2dopeboys for the post.
