Mr. Zia Mohajerjasbi and crew have done it again. When it snows hardy in Seattle, you can expect greatness from the Blue Scholars camp and this time is no different. If you’ve never seen the original “Coffee and Snow” video, I recommend watching it before clicking on what’s above. Just for reference on where Blue Scholars are coming from with this current cinematic adventure. The boys work well in bad weather and “Coffee and Snow 2″ is a damn good job considering they created it in less than 48 hours. I hope Zia has found some time to rest. I can imagine they were burning the midnight oil getting this one ready. You’ll even notice that Zia makes an appearance at the end. And you’ll hear Geo make references to the teacher in Spokane that got suspended for passing out the lyrics to a Blue Scholars song. So it goes. Thank God it snowed.

Vitamin D: emerald city beatsmith and patron of fine opera

Hey Vita! happy belated b-day from the not so tall homies @ LxNxM ! Vitamin D humbly presides in the upper echelon of Seattle producers and hip hop culture in general. Smoothly riding the currents of the Seattle “waves of hip hop ( see Mudede’s timeline/wave theory of Seattle Hip Hop)“, Vita has expanded outside of the 206 with notable collabos with Abstract Rude, Gift of Gab, and various Rhymesayer heads.  On the local tip – Vita ever remains the accessible tall homey,  laying down clever verses all over the place and supplying enduring beats that seem to tailor fit local emcees and singers.

Alright, so the word on the Born day EP is that Vitamin D recorded all these tracks on his b-day! source- local emcee ispire of Canary Sing. Not surprisingly the EP knocks, but it also entertains in way that will put a gleam in the eye of any true hip hop head. West coast undergound heads are probably no stranger to the Native Guns crew – composed of emcees Kiwi and Bambu. The Filipino duo deftly discoursed modern proletarian/petite bourgeoisie life over hood certifiable beats, never failing to move a crowd.

Parting ways in recent years to pursue solo efforts, Kiwi and Bambu have stayed on their grizzly. In this track off his upcoming EP, …paper cuts,  Bambu gets cold and candid on the psuedo-conscious emcee and their triflin’ pro-woman messages.
