well, color me late to the party. you might know jamie woon as the guy responsible for the burial-produced, oft-remixed jam “night air.” two weeks ago he dropped the above track, “lady luck,” and wow, it’s pretty amazing. this is definitely some future soul greatness. props to PUT ME ON IT for linking to the al fresco/a capella version that made me search out “lady luck”. this track will appear on his upcoming record mirrorwriting, but in the meantime, you can buy it via itunes here.

decibel fest is happening (and has been happening already) this week and weekend in seattle. tons of good stuff, so head on over to the decibel fest site and see what you’ve been/could be missing. of special note is the mary anne hobbs dj set on sunday at the broad street stage (beer garden too!). sadly, she just ended her BBC show. of course, she got a burial and kode9 going away mix for her troubles. she’s also featured crazy great mixes from the likes of joker and dam-funk in the last several shows, which you can stream/download below. i’m not sure why she hung it up, but it’s sad regardless. check her out this sunday, if you’ve got $10 in your pocket.
