Ever since Sade dropped the rugged-as-all-what Soldier of Love sometime back, rap rappers have been looping up and hopping onto the snare rolls and strings that make that song so damn dirty. Hella folks took the vocal route (word to Young Buck) but up until today I hadn’t heard any producers try to mess with the track (am I missing something? What we’ve got here now, via Bambu/Native Guns DJ Phatrick is a dubby little refix by a dude named Kastle. Kastle is the side project/alternative persona of Pittsburgh rep B. Rich, and he does something that I didn’t think could be done: he makes Soldier of Love go even harder. Damn.
