I’m bummed I didn’t find this earlier, back when summer was really doing the dang thing, and not wincing away into a premature autumn (if you’re west coaster, perhaps you know what I’m talking about). On the plus side, this new-to-me Summer Mix  by Miami’s Champion Sound Crew might just hold off those clouds a tad longer.

Champion Sound MIA have consistently been putting on big nights at the Electric Pickle in Miami, as well as producing high-quality mixes that bring some of that South Florida vibe out to the world. Champion Sound’s got four DJs – Manuvers, A Train, Lumin, and the homie Sire Esquire – and each one takes a chunk of the mix, bringing their own sounds and tastes to one cohesive project.

It’s good times, and with shorter days just around the corner, this might be the only thing that’ll get you through (unless they follow it up with airline tickets to Miami, which we here at LxNxM would never dream of turning down). Tracklisting after the jump.

Although I didn’t get a chance to go down to Miami to attend any of the Winter Music Conference parties this year, my homie Pancho, aka DJ Manuvers, kept me updated via his Facebook.  Gilles Peterson, ?uestlove and Aloe Blacc were among some of the artists  that he saw that made me most jealous.  It looked like a hella good time, and I wish I could have been of a part of it.  Oh well, there’s always next year…

On that note, Manuvers hooked it up with this dope 80-minute Champion Sound mix.  Not quite like being there, but it’s a hell of a consolation prize.

Just in case you don’t already know, Champion Sound is a Miami-based DJ collective that holds a weekly party every Wednesday at the Electric Pickle in Miami.  If you’re a Miami resident, or you’re just stopping through on a Wednesday, you should definitely check out Champion Sound for one of the best weekly hip hop/soul/disco/funk nights in town – held down by DJs A-Train, Manuvers, Sire Esq., and Lumin, and featuring the occasional heavyweight guest DJ.

Check the four-part mix, presented in 20-minute sets from each of the Champion Sound DJs, below.  Peep the Champion Sound blog for the tracklisting.
