I keep forgetting that the always enchanting songstress Sade is scheduled for one of her once per decade tours in 2011. She’s only got two confirmed West Coast dates so far, and naturally, they’re in Southern California. According to her website, however, more dates are supposed to be announced in the near future and Seattle might get lucky.
With that said, San Francisco house producers Vin Sol and Charles McCloud recently dropped a beautiful Sade remix gem that has me longing to see Ms. Sade Adu live even more. Sol and McCloud’s reworking of “Couldn’t Love You More” is all deep house and full of enough blissful bass that it turns the remix into a complete entity of its own without taking away from Sade’s vocals. It’s arguably better than the original, which I don’t say lightly, and makes me an instant fan of these two guys as producers. Check out their stellar “Couldn’t Love You More” below.

Toronto is a kindred city to the essence of what Last Nights Mixtape is all about: global sounds, forward thinking musicians, damn good reggae, and DJs that know how to satisfy listeners from all around the world. DJ Mensa, who we first told you about back with his solid Bilal mix, has returned with a brand new groovy project entitled Hibernation that is meant to awaken the bedroom bully in all of us. As many folks across North America are experiencing right now, this winter sucks! Global shifts have Seattle at 50 degrees and Arizona at 19 degrees. Texas is dealing with a snow storm and Miami is in the 40s every night.
That means it’s a fine time to stay inside and hibernate, right? Check out the mix that Mensa put together and feel free to play this while you’re entertaining a lover. This is contemporary soul for the intimate ones out there. Any time you can get Aaliyah, J. Cole, R. Kelly, Teedra Moses, Sade, and Zhane on one mix, you know what time it is. Stream the whole thing below/download it right here (right click, save as). Full tracklist is below.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the mighty Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon “The Chef” performing Stevie Wonder’s “Overjoyed” in dedication to Sade:
That was good, right?
If you’re as big a fan of Sade as Raekwon, peep the mixtape and album sampler links after the jump.
Ever since Sade dropped the rugged-as-all-what Soldier of Love sometime back, rap rappers have been looping up and hopping onto the snare rolls and strings that make that song so damn dirty. Hella folks took the vocal route (word to Young Buck) but up until today I hadn’t heard any producers try to mess with the track (am I missing something? Producers/hot tippers: hit us at lastnightsmixtape@gmail.com).
What we’ve got here now, via Bambu/Native Guns DJ Phatrick is a dubby little refix by a dude named Kastle. Kastle is the side project/alternative persona of Pittsburgh rep B. Rich, and he does something that I didn’t think could be done: he makes Soldier of Love go even harder. Damn.
Don’t break your neck with this thing. But you must download it post-haste.

Why yes, this is a new Sade song. I’m not sure what I think of the track as a whole yet, but new Sade is very exciting nonetheless and, honestly, Ms. Adu’s heavenly voice is enough for me. I’m sure wordlush will appreciate this one, as he was saying that he needed some new Sade in his life just the other day.
