One of LxNxM’s favorite selectors is Blondtron, aka one of Vancouver’s turntable stalwarts, and the brains behind such delights as the Bouncing Bush Stew mixtape with Prince Zimboo, and moombahton selections for days.

Word on the street (or email, whatever) is that Blondtron’s got a new crew these days, combining forces with Aussie/Vancouver arrivee Ned Kelly to become Star Xrossed Lovers. I’m getting an image of Romeo and Juliet crossed with Toadly Crossed Out, which is kind of blowing my mind.

Given their mutual pedigree, it’s anybody’s guess what they might end up doing (wearing frog masks and drinking poison in Verona is hopefully not on the list), but if their first mix, “Sprechen Sie Douche” is any indication, it’ll involve a whole lot of body rocking.

At nearly two hours, “Sprechen Sie Douche” is a solid solid run of edits, refixes and various touch-ups that range from big names like Crookers, The Rapture, and the Audio Bullys (yes, those Audio Bullys) to up and comers like official LxNxM homie (and Soundsystem guest rocker) Astronomar.

Get it, enjoy it, and make sure you look up Blondtron, Ned Kelly, and the Star Xrossed Lovers next time you’re in the Van.

Old Money Massive, the Vancouver/NYC dudes we wrote about waaaaaay back when, recently put out the video for their single Mamaseh. The song is dope, and the video brings a corresponding level of awesome with it. Washed out colors, grainy, and with more of that old New Yawk than you can shake a stick at. Check the b-side below, and download that. Loving that Old Money!

VANCOUVER! are you up on the mad decent podcast? you should be. in the late summer, they dropped a mix by vancouver DJs rico uno and genie called swag surfin (download) that is “dedicated to that new black boy white boy type stuff” and ends with 20 minutes of dancehall. as a mix, it’s totally random, but  it’s super nonetheless.

rico uno and genie are also responsible for this year-end mix of their favorite rap tracks for mad decent. and the next time you’re up in vancouver, be sure to eat all the delicious food there and find out where these guys are DJing.
