I ran into my man Grynch this past Saturday night at a snowboard DVD release party… weird, I know, and he hipped me to the fact that he was dropping a new music video at the top of this week. Naturally, I forgot so shame on me for letting 2wackboys get it up before us here at LxNxM. Check it. The song is from mid 2011 if not earlier but the proper visuals for it just arrived yesterday.

The track is produced by Jake One and features Grynch’s classic Volvo, Golden Gardens beach, Billy the Fridge, a tasty sandwich from Paseo and various other Seattle highlights. Beyond the aesthetic, it also showcases Grynch’s ability to tell story raps better than he gets credit for and stay right in his own pocket while riding a beat.

Greedhead and GoatFace Comedy have come together to bring us this very entertaining video for “Girl,” one of the more melodious tunes off of last year’s Relax. Fans of all things Das Racist should be on the lookout for Heems’ newest mixtape, Wild Water Kingdom, out later this week (hopefully).

Dengue Dengue Dengue! is the audiovisual brainchild of Felipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira, a couple of guys from one of my favorite cities in the world: Lima, Peru. Although the duo is based out of  the sprawling metropolis that is Lima, they look to the jungles of the Amazon for a lot of the melodies in their music and motifs in their visuals. By drawing inspiration from the cumbia psicodélica movement of the 60s and 70s (see Los Mirlos, Ranil y su conjunto and Juaneco y su combo) and integrating heavy dubby/dancehall-ish basslines and contemporary electronic sounds, DDD has managed to tastefully flip one uniquely Peruvian sound to make another uniquely Peruvian sound. As a Peruvian and a music lover, I approve.

late pass, but i finally got around to watching/listening to alunageorge’s new video/track “your drums, your love.” and yeah, those drums. one thought from the video is that these two, and specifically leggy, gorgeous aluna, are gonna blow up. which makes me feel bad for george cause he is just some pasty looking white dude and have you seen aluna? great producer though. between this, and their previous ep, it’s pretty apparent. the single drops on 10/15, and features remixes from deebs and lil silva.
