Archive for the ‘Wiley’ tag

This might sound funny, but for the past couple of months, I’ve been trying to post a banging Wiley track but have been unable to do so for reasons of quality control. Frankly, most of the stuff that’s popped up on the internets from Wiley of late has bordered on wactose. And we here at LxNxM are wactose intolerant. Hence, despite my strong love for Wiley’s earlier grime work, he’s been absent from this site for awhile. But his newest track harkens back to the ’90s as he spits over a refixed version of White Town’s “Your Woman.”

I’m glad that Wiley recruited singer Emelie Sandi to record this song and video. Today, I learned that White Town is actually the studio name of an Indian man from the U.K. named Jyoti Prakash Mishra. Consider your Trivial Pursuit studying thoroughly completed.

About a week ago, the Ultra Official LxNxM email (lastnightsmixtape@gmail.com if you’re not knowing) was graced with a message from affiliates of the Get Some crew from the UK. I had never personally heard of these dudes before, but I’m definitely feeling their steeze. The fellas throw a party on the regular in the one and only London Town, and flex some decidedly rugged design skills (and that’s meant as a good thing).

The in-house sound selector for the Get Some team goes by the name of SSG, and amongst the other goodies up on their web world (including a little Mungo’s HiFi refix that we’re feeling, check it below the jump) he’s got a couple of live mixes posted up. Personally, I’m feeling the second a little more – a couple of lethal change-ups and that good good bass are treating me right.

Grab it, and if you happen to be in Shoreditch anytime soon, check for these gents.

And because I can’t resist anyone who’s going to bring Wiley and Wot you call it? back, another Get Some mix:

Mungo’s HiFi vid and a couple of tracklists after the jump.
